The circulatory system is, in the vision of Ovidiu Bojor, the key to longevity and general health. Without efficient blood circulation, oxygen and nutrients do not reach where they are needed, and the body begins to show signs of weakness. Bojor has dedicated a significant part of his work to natural remedies for the heart, arteries, and capillaries, emphasizing plants that support circulation, reduce blood pressure, thin the blood, and calm cardiovascular stress.
Essential plants for the circulatory system recommended by Ovidiu Bojor
1. Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna)
Referred to by Bojor as the cardiologist’s plant, hawthorn has the following effects:
- coronary vasodilator
- blood pressure regulator
- mild sedative for the nervous system
Dosage: tincture (20 drops x 3 times/day) or infusion (1 tablespoon in 250 ml of water, twice/day).
Duration: minimum 3 weeks.
2. Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca)
Recommended for:
- reducing blood pressure
- calming palpitations of nervous origin
- combating anxiety that affects the heart
Dosage: infusion (1 tablespoon in 250 ml of water, 1-2 times a day), or tincture.
3. Mistletoe (Viscum album)
Considered by Bojor one of the most important natural hypotensives.
- regulates blood pressure
- strengthens capillaries
- balances heart functions
Usage: cold maceration (1 tablespoon of crushed mistletoe in 250 ml of water, left for 8-10 hours, then strained and taken in the morning).
Mistletoe should be used with caution, only from the leaves (not the berries).
4. Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum)
Recommended for:
- varicose veins
- hemorrhoids
- capillary fragility
Dosage: tincture or ointment for external use.
Internally: in the form of standardized extract (consult a herbalist for dosage).
5. Ginkgo biloba
Ovidiu Bojor mentions ginkgo as a cerebral and vascular supporter.
- improves microcirculation
- combats fatigue and memory disturbances related to poor circulation
- thins the blood
Dosage: capsules or infusion (1 tablespoon in 250 ml of water, once/day).
Avoid in combination with anticoagulants.
