“I will translate this for 500 lei.”

For a few seconds, no one said anything. The rain hit the windows, and the lightning illuminated the luxurious office in cold bursts.

“Did you hear what he said?” one of the executives laughed. “A kid delivering food wants to fix a million-dollar contract.”

Ștefan raised an eyebrow, curious. “Alright, our hero from room 23… show us what you know.”

Daniel put his bag down and approached the computer. His fingers trembled slightly, but his gaze was determined. The expensive keyboards, huge monitors, and people dressed to the nines intimidated him. But something inside him told him he couldn’t leave now.

“Do you have a copy of the original document?”

“On the internal server,” replied Ștefan. “But be careful, if you mess something up, we lose everything.”

Daniel smiled faintly. “If you let the system keep translating, you’ll lose anyway.”

With a few confident clicks, the boy accessed the files. His eyes raced across the screen at an unbelievable speed. In a few minutes, he corrected symbols, reorganized phrases, and deleted misunderstandings. On the screen, the red letters disappeared one by one.

Vega approached from behind. “How are you doing this without a dictionary?”

“I don’t need one. My father always told me: the Japanese language is not just translated with the mind, but also with the heart. Every symbol has its own soul.”

His words silenced the room. Even those who had laughed at first now watched, hypnotized.

After half an hour, Daniel pressed Enter. A clear, perfectly translated sentence appeared on the screen.

“Was this supposed to be?” asked one of the experts.

“Exactly,” said the boy. “The phrase that the system made offensive was actually a formula of respect used only between high-ranking partners.”

Ștefan was left speechless. Vega looked at the monitor, then at Daniel.

“If you’re right, you just saved a business worth tens of millions.”

Daniel lowered his gaze. “I just did what I had to.”

One of the technicians checked the translation in parallel, comparing it to the original text. The confirmation appeared on the screen in a few seconds: valid translation, no errors.

Ștefan took a deep breath. “Alright, kid. Tell me how much you want for this.”

Daniel shrugged. “I don’t want money. Just… send this food to the old doorman. He hasn’t eaten all day.”

Silence fell in the room again.

Vega looked at him for a long time. Then, in a soft voice, he said: “What’s your name?”

“Daniel.”

“From now on, Daniel, you’re not delivering food anymore. Come to the office tomorrow morning. We need people like you.”

The boy blinked a few times, unsure if he heard correctly.

“To the office? Me?”

“Yes. You saved the company. I think you deserved a chance before, but look… fate found a way.”

A few timid applause echoed in the room.

Daniel grabbed his backpack, bowed briefly, and left. Outside, the rain had stopped. The air smelled of renewal.

On the way home, he remembered his father’s words: “Pay attention to details, but never forget to see the person behind the words.”

That evening, a simple, drenched, and hungry boy changed the fate of a huge corporation. And, without realizing it, he changed his own life as well.
