Spring is the most favorable season for cleansing the body of toxins accumulated during winter. The body is overloaded and sluggish.
A tea made from purifying herbs is all we need to restore the body’s functions during this period.
Signs of a Body Overloaded with Toxins
How do you know you need a body detox? Here are some general signs:
- Poor circulation
- Feeling sluggish and tired
- Lethargy
- Water retention
- Slowed metabolism
- Slow digestion, bloating, constipation
- Excess mucus
Detoxification is also beneficial as it helps alleviate the body’s adverse reactions to allergens that appear in spring.
Seasonal allergies set in as flowers begin to bloom. Symptoms manifest as runny nose, blocked sinuses, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, excessive tearing, throat irritation, and frequent sneezing.
Liver Detoxification
Detoxification should primarily focus on the liver. In spring, the liver works hard to eliminate stored toxins in the body (synthetic medications, environmental pollutants), excess hormones, and metabolic waste from the blood.
Therefore, the liver needs support during the transition from winter to spring. There are medicinal plants that support the detoxifying functions of the liver that we can use for this purpose.
The best are purifying and diuretic plants, digestive, laxative, bitter, and hepatic herbs.
The Herbal Academy recommends a tea blend that enhances liver activity, digestion, and immune responses to allergic factors.
Moreover, the plants that make up this tea nourish the body with the nutrients they contain. They have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-histamine properties.
