Warm milk with raw egg is a well-known remedy in various cultures around the world. In Israel, this remedy is called Kogel mogel or Gogol mogol. In our country, it is referred to as shodou or odou.
Many associate it with childhood, which is why it is often called grandma’s remedy for sore throat.
Milk with Egg Yolk
It has emollient, moisturizing, and soothing effects. It helps alleviate throat irritation and tonsillitis. It contributes to the healing of damaged tissues and the recovery of a hoarse voice.
Even though it may seem difficult to swallow, the combination is actually quite pleasant in taste. A little honey can be added to give it a sweet aroma. Even children can drink this mixture easily if it is prepared correctly.
Other ingredients can also be added to enhance the effects of this preparation, such as spices, seasonings, or raw pollen.
