The most powerful plant for depression, anxiety, and stress is not valerian, passionflower, or linden. It is lemon balm, or Melissa.
This is the opinion of the healer Nicolae Onu from Mniceti, who has gone viral on social media for his advice on the benefits of medicinal plants.
The Healer from Mniceti
Nicolae Onu can be considered a botanist. He calls himself a plant gatherer.
Indeed, he is a good connoisseur of healing plants, but he is also a faithful man. He sees all of them as gifts from God.
The plants themselves carry a bit of healing that the Lord has placed in them for the benefit of mankind.
Health from the Pharmacy of the Lord
His knowledge about healing herbs was acquired from the saints who lived in the forests he walked through. Nicolae’s motto is that of doctors without borders: freely you have received, freely give.
Recently invited to a podcast by Damian Drăghici, Nicolae spoke about the healing power of several plants.
Regarding the nervous system and the disturbances that arise in this regard, Nicolae recommends lemon balm. He considers it the most effective remedy.
The Most Powerful Plant for Depression, Anxiety, and Stress
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) belongs to the mint family. It is also known as balm or bee balm, due to its distinctive smell and aroma.
It has been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times. Ancient peoples primarily used it for neurological and psychological disturbances, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular issues.
Lemon Balm Tincture
It contains phytochemical compounds with pharmacological activities, such as phenolic acids (rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid), flavonoids (quercetin, rhamnocitrin, luteolin), triterpenes (ursolic acid, oleanolic acid), and volatile compounds (geranial, neral, citronellal, geraniol).
It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiviral, antimicrobial, antinociceptive, and nephroprotective properties.
What makes it useful in nervous disorders are its neuroprotective and calming effects.
Clinical studies have shown it to be effective in anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, palpitations, hypertension, dementia, Alzheimer’s, infant colic, metabolic and sexual disorders.
How to Correctly Consume Lemon Balm for Effect: 2 Secrets
Lemon balm cannot be consumed just any way or anytime. There are certain rules to keep in mind.
For lemon balm to be effective in depression, anxiety, or stress, we need to know how to prepare it and especially how long to administer it. It’s an art to drink lemon balm.
Lemon balm tea should not be boiled but prepared by infusion. If you boil it, it loses its active principles, says the healer. The plant is placed in a cup, hot water is poured over it, and it is left to infuse.
Lemon Balm Tea
The second secret is related to the duration of the lemon balm tea cure. Drink for 7 days, 2 cups of lemon balm, preferably on an empty stomach. On the 8th and 9th days, stop the tea. The cure is resumed after a 2-day break, starting from the 10th day.
Immediately after those 7 days of treatment, a miracle happens in the hypothalamus. It’s as if the brain undergoes a reset and reorganization.
When you start drinking lemon balm again on the 10th day, that’s when you heal.
