Stretch marks can be very unsightly, often seen on thighs, abdomen, or arms. Causes include drastic weight loss, hereditary factors, or stress. When the skin stretches, the collagen in the skin becomes weak and causes the formation of fine lines beneath the upper layer of the skin.
But there is nothing to worry about. There are certain remedies that can help prevent stretch marks and reduce the appearance of old or new ones. There are many ways to eliminate stretch marks, and usually, a combination of ingredients works best. In a few weeks, you will notice that those unsightly lines become less visible.
Cocoa Butter
1 cup of cocoa butter
1 tablespoon of wheat germ oil
2 teaspoons of beeswax
1 tablespoon of apricot oil
1 vitamin E capsule
Preparation method:
Mix the above ingredients and heat until the beeswax completely melts.
Store this mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Apply the mixture to the stretch marks and massage for a few minutes until well absorbed by the skin, 2-3 times a day.
Cocoa butter hydrates the skin and makes it smoother. It penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and repairs damaged cells. You can also apply just cocoa butter to the affected area twice a day. After a few months, the stretch marks will fade.
Shea Butter
In addition to being very moisturizing for the skin, shea butter also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Regular application will keep the skin healthy and repair damaged cells. Reapply several times throughout the day.
Aloe Vera
Fresh aloe vera gel
5 vitamin A capsules
10 vitamin E capsules
Extract the fresh gel from an aloe vera leaf and add the vitamin capsules.
Massage this mixture onto the skin until absorbed. Do not rinse. You can store the remaining mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
You can also apply just aloe vera gel. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Repeat this once or twice a day until the stretch marks begin to fade.
Aloe vera is a very beneficial plant for the body, especially for the skin. It soothes the skin and improves the healing process. This is due to the compounds glucomannan and gibberellin, which lead to increased collagen synthesis and reduced stretch marks. It also contains essential vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that have antioxidant properties.
Castor Oil
Gently heat the castor oil and massage it onto the stretch marks for 15 to 20 minutes. Do this every day before going to bed.
Castor oil is commonly used to treat skin diseases and hair loss. It contains ricinoleic acid, a skin conditioning agent that promotes the healing of stretch marks.
Olive or Argan Oil
Gently heat the olive or argan oil and massage it onto the affected area for 15-20 minutes. Do not rinse.
Repeat this twice a day.
Olive oil is rich in nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants. It is very healthy for the skin and helps alleviate several skin issues, including stretch marks. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
Argan oil is often used in cosmetic products for its various benefits. It has antioxidant properties and is rich in vitamin E. It nourishes and heals the skin while reducing scars and stretch marks.
Fresh Lemon Juice
Apply 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice in circular motions on the stretch marks. Let it be absorbed by the skin for about 10 minutes.
Rinse with warm water and apply a moisturizer.
You can also add a tablespoon of cucumber juice and one or two tablespoons of gram flour and mix until a paste forms. Apply it to the skin and let it dry for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Repeat this once a day.
Using lemon juice is another simple way to eliminate stretch marks. Lemon juice is naturally acidic, which helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acne, and other scars.
Turmeric and Yogurt Mixture
Mix one tablespoon of turmeric with one tablespoon of yogurt until a paste forms. Apply over the stretch marks and let it dry for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Turmeric is the best way to get rid of stretch marks. It is full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and skin-lightening properties. After a few weeks, you will notice that the stretch marks fade significantly.
