Five years after the death of Ion Dolanescu, the mother of the late artist has passed away.
The elderly woman was 102 years old, and recently she suffered as she saw her grandchildren, Ionut and Dragos, fighting in court over their father’s estate.
Throughout her life, Mama Didina, as her close ones called her, tried to keep her family united. She had 8 children, but she was most proud of Ion.
“He was… Dolanescu, he was very well-behaved and very understanding,” the artist’s mother recalled in 2009 when asked if Ion Dolanescu was a well-behaved child.
She loved her children and grandchildren immensely. After Ion Dolanescu and Maria Ciobanu separated, Mama Didina was the one who raised their son, Ionut. Nothing made her happier than seeing her grandson sing.
