Normally, the humidity level of healthy hair is around 10%. Aggressive environmental factors (ultraviolet rays, dry wind, etc.), the use of drying and styling tools, an improper diet, low temperatures, or inadequate sebum production can excessively dry the hair by reducing the moisture inside the hair strands, making it fragile, brittle, and prone to static.
Natural recipes for regenerating dry hair:
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of argan oil
1 teaspoon of castor oil
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
Preparation and usage:
Take two tablespoons of coconut oil and place them in a bowl for a few seconds in the microwave until it becomes liquid. If you don’t have a microwave, you can put it in a bag under hot running water.
Add the other two oils to the same bowl. They won’t mix very well, so there’s no need to insist.
Soak your fingers and apply it to your hair from top to bottom. Focus on the ends.
Put a plastic cap on your head, then a towel. You need to wait at least 30 minutes.
Wash your hair with shampoo and do not apply conditioner.
After your hair is dry, you can apply two drops of argan oil on your palms and distribute it gently on the ends and along the hair. Do not apply more to avoid an oily appearance.
Benefits of the oils:
Argan oil has many advantages for hair, giving it shine. It makes it soft and smooths the appearance of rebellious strands. It helps prevent scalp inflammation.
Castor oil for cosmetic use stimulates hair growth and thickens it.
Coconut oil treats dandruff, reduces the appearance of damaged strands, and decreases excess sebum.
Ingredients:
2 eggs
5 tablespoons of olive oil
Preparation and usage:
Separate the yolks from the whites and use only the yolks. The whites have drying properties and are only useful for oily hair.
Put the yolks in a small bowl and mix them with the olive oil until you get a homogeneous and creamy mixture.
If you have very long hair, add another tablespoon of olive oil, and if it is very short, use only 2 tablespoons in this mask.
The mask is applied to damp hair, from roots to ends, spreading the mixture as evenly as possible. Use a comb to distribute the mask over the entire surface of the hair.
Let it act for 20 minutes, covering your head with a shower cap.
After that, wash with shampoo and rinse with cold water. It is not enough to rinse, as only a form of soap can remove the grease from the olive oil. The water should not be hot, as it will cook the egg yolk and make it very difficult to remove from the hair.
Tips for caring for dry hair:
Do not wash it too often. Do you wash your hair 3 or 4 times a week? Dry hair should only be washed once a week. Why? The more often you wash it, the more you contribute to the removal of sebum, thus drying it out!
Use as natural care products as possible.
Do not use a hairdryer unless absolutely necessary. It damages the hair cuticle, and the heat emitted by the hairdryer promotes its drying. You should use it sparingly, at a medium temperature, at a distance of 10-15 cm from the hair.
Avoid styling products. There are many hair products on the market. You should avoid those that contain alcohol. Alcohol dissolves the fatty acids that are essential for the scalp. What you should do: opt for alcohol-free styling products labeled for fragile or damaged hair.
Trim burnt and damaged ends. No matter how much you want long hair, if the strands are damaged and burnt at the ends, it will never look aesthetic. The golden rule for regenerating hair strands is to trim the ends every 6-8 weeks, even more frequently if you regularly style with a flat iron or curling iron.
