I Discovered by Chance That Our Neighbors Were Using Our Jacuzzi

We started by preparing our yard for a surprise… one that none of the neighbors could have anticipated. We left the doors wide open and placed some wet towels exactly where they used to sit, as if they had left behind their “prints.” We also added a few empty glasses and snack bags, just like the day before, to make everything look as authentic as possible.

When they arrived, we pretended to leave for a short walk, but we stayed hidden behind the fence. At first, they laughed and exclaimed, “Look, it seems like they left the house just for us!” But when they tried to get into the jacuzzi, they felt the first shock — the water had a thin layer of red food coloring, which was harmless but made it look like the jacuzzi was “bleeding”!

They tried to laugh, but a slight panic crept in among them. We followed with the next phase: we placed small speakers in the trees and played a concert of strange sounds, like murmurs and whispers, that seemed to come right from the yard. The neighbor screamed and ran towards the fence while her husband tried to find the source of the noises.

At that moment, we showed ourselves at the gate, laughing and greeting politely, as if everything had been a coincidence. We calmly told them, “Dear ones, I think you’ve gotten too comfortable with our house. It’s time to return to reality.” We explained, with wide smiles, what we had discovered over the past few months and asked them never to touch our property again.

Their eyes widened in astonishment, and shame washed over them. They seemed unsure of where to look or what to say. For us, it was a double lesson: they realized they couldn’t do whatever they wanted with other people’s things, and that we were always watching, while for us… the satisfaction of seeing them surprised and scared was unexpected and sweet.

After that day, the neighbors dared not approach our yard again. The jacuzzi remained ours, the yard peaceful, and for the first time, we truly felt that our refuge was inviolable. One evening, watching the sunset from our terrace, we smiled together, knowing that sometimes, to be respected, you have to give a lesson that people will never forget.

And so, our dream house remained what it was meant to be: a place of peace, joy, and beautiful memories, free from intruders, where every moment felt truly ours.
