I Will Have to Move to My Mom’s for a Month

When Tatiana saw the picture, her heart skipped a beat. She had already imagined the scene: Natalia, smiling, arranging flowers and gifts, while Yuri looked on with sparkling eyes. She felt betrayed, even though she had seen nothing more than the photograph.

The next day, Tatiana returned from her mother’s hospital, but she didn’t rush home. She lingered in the city, trying to clear her thoughts. However, the thought of the bouquet and the pictures wouldn’t leave her alone. She entered the apartment and smelled the familiar scent of vanilla—Yuri was cooking, just like before, when everything was harmony and peace.

She found him in the kitchen, with his calm smile, but Tatiana could no longer speak rationally. Tears streamed down her face, and emotions made her voice tremble:

— Yuri… who is Natalia? — she asked, disregarding politeness.

Yuri raised his eyebrows, surprised, then smiled slightly and reached out to her:

— Tatiana… calm down. Natalia is my colleague at work. I brought the flowers because… it was her birthday, and I had to do something nice for her. That’s all.

Tatiana’s eyes widened, her breathing gradually calmed. She looked at the bouquet, then at Yuri, and realized how much her imagination and jealousy had played tricks on her. Her heart settled, and laughter came naturally, short and light.

— I tricked you, dear — Yuri continued. — But see? Everything is clear.

Tatiana laughed through her tears, feeling that all her suspicions had dissipated. That evening, they put flowers in a vase, made tea, and sat together on the couch, enveloped by the scent of vanilla and the warmth of reunion. For the first time in many days, Tatiana felt that home was truly home, and the trust and love between them overcame fears and doubts.

The ending came with a sweet calmness: the bouquet of flowers, a witness to jealousy and worries, had become a symbol of their reconciliation and love, stronger than ever.
