Ludmila was consumed by a deep unease because her husband had not come to greet her upon her discharge from the maternity ward

Ludmila was deeply troubled because her husband had not come to greet her at the maternity ward, where she had been discharged along with their newborn daughter. She had clearly told him that they were supposed to go home that day. And how embarrassing it was when the medical staff escorted her outside, and there was no one waiting for her.

Ludmila’s parents could not come, as they were from another county. And when she saw another woman being welcomed with honors, flowers, and balloons by her partner, her heart filled with pain. Struggling to hold back her tears, she called a taxi and left alone for home. On the way, her thoughts spun in her mind, full of accusations she wanted to throw in her husband’s face, whom she considered irresponsible and indifferent.

She tried to cling to the idea that maybe he had slept too much or, at worst, had been celebrating with friends out of joy. It was a somewhat logical explanation. However, the reality was much harsher.

In the bed where she intended to lay her daughter, there was a stranger, half-dressed. Was this how the young father welcomed his family back from the maternity ward? Was this how he showed his appreciation for his wife and child? Ludmila had swallowed his lies about a heavy workload, urgent delegations, and friends who couldn’t manage without him for too long. Now, everything made sense.

Without saying a word, Ludmila ran towards the door. Her husband wanted to follow her, but he couldn’t go outside without pants. She quickly jumped into the taxi that had not yet left and told the driver to start immediately. In the car, tears began to flow freely. The driver understood nothing, not even where to go. So they drove on, aimlessly. Ludmila had no backup plan. Her relatives and friends remained in her hometown, she had no money, and the baby had started to cry. She didn’t even have anything to pay for the ride.

After calming down a bit, she told the driver everything that had happened to her.

Fortunately, the man turned out to be a kind-hearted person. He invited her to his home. There, his wife welcomed her. She warmed up dinner for the new mother and put her to sleep, along with the baby. The couple let her stay with them for a few days until Ludmila’s parents came and took her and the baby to their home.

The husband tried to reconnect. He called constantly, but Ludmila no longer answered. She changed her number and did not want to see him ever again.

After moving in with her parents, she immediately filed for divorce and requested child support. She never met her ex-husband again. He didn’t care about the fate of the baby or what was happening with Ludmila. He probably still lives with his new mistress.

But Ludmila no longer cries. A despicable traitor does not deserve a single tear.
