Lana, one of our readers, had a shocking revelation on her wedding night that made her seriously question her newly begun marriage.
Furious and disappointed by what she discovered, Lana decided to share her story and seek advice.
After the guests left the reception, she and her new husband headed to the hotel room for their first night as husband and wife.
Shortly after they entered the room, he told her he forgot something downstairs in the hallway and went to get it.
Thirty minutes passed, and he did not return. Lana began to worry, so she went out to look for him.
She found him in the reception area, talking to his childhood best friend, Dylan. The two had been friends for over 25 years but hadn’t seen each other in nearly a decade because Dylan lived and worked in Australia.
Her husband apologized, explaining that he wanted to call her but forgot his phone in the room.
He added that he hadn’t had the chance to talk with his friend during the wedding and that:
“Dylan has to fly back tomorrow morning for work, and I don’t know when I’ll see him again.”
The big shock came when he asked:
“Do you mind if I go out with him tonight? We’re both exhausted after the party, and it would be a quiet evening. Of course, you’re more than welcome to join us.”
Lana felt deeply hurt and unimportant. On a night that was supposed to be about them, about the beginning of their life together, he chose to spend time with his friend.
Disappointed, Lana left the hotel alone and did not return home.
Today, she says she is seriously considering ending the marriage.
He, on the other hand, claims he doesn’t understand why she is so upset:
“We’ve slept together every night for 2 years. But I don’t know when I’ll see Dylan again.”
What do you think? Did Lana overreact? Or did she deserve more respect and attention on her wedding night?
