Natural Moisturizing Cream for Dry Skin with Lavender Oil, Coconut Oil, and Shea Butter (recipe)

This is the time of year when our skin often feels uncomfortable due to changes in the weather. The cold temperatures outside, combined with low humidity and dry air, can create that annoying sensation of dry and itchy skin. There are some amazing natural skincare remedies to address this issue, including this natural moisturizing cream for dry skin with lavender oil, coconut oil, and shea butter.
Transitioning from store-bought products to making your own is one of the best things you can do to avoid the artificial chemicals and harmful substances present in most cosmetic products. I believe it is easy to forget how what we put on our bodies, such as a moisturizer for dry skin, is just as important as what we put in our bodies.
Beware of Most Beauty Products
The Breast Cancer Fund Organization in the United States has highlighted how beauty products affect us beyond the surface level. When it comes to beauty products, the effects of the ingredients they contain can be more than just skin deep. The cosmetics industry uses thousands of synthetic chemicals in its products, from lipstick and lotion to shampoo and shaving cream.
Many of the ingredients used for industrial cleaning are the same ingredients found in most skincare products. This should be enough information to help you choose a natural approach to cosmetics! The cosmetics industry is allowed to introduce thousands of synthetic chemicals into personal care products, regardless of their links to cancer, infertility, or congenital disabilities.
Winter Skincare Tips
There are a few simple things you can do to make winter more comfortable for your skin:
Avoid frequent hot showers and baths. Hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils, causing it to feel dry and itchy.
Avoid products laden with chemicals, such as those containing fragrances, alcohol, and synthetics. These can cause a lot of irritation by drying out the skin.
Try to moisturize your skin immediately after you get out of the shower or bath. Simply pat yourself dry with a towel and, while your skin is still damp, apply an excellent natural moisturizer, like the one below. Then, let it air dry.
Moisturizing Ingredients
Here is an excellent moisturizing cream for dry skin that you can make right at home, with just a few ingredients, including coconut oil and lavender oil, which have many benefits. Coconut oil contains saturated fats that help keep the skin hydrated, preventing moisture loss through the skin’s pores. These fats give the skin a healthy, smooth, and even tone.
Meanwhile, lavender oil has natural antimicrobial and antioxidant properties that help nourish and protect the skin.

The other ingredients include shea butter, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, and aloe. Ultra-moisturizing shea butter can encourage the regeneration of skin cells and soften the skin, which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Did you know that jojoba oil helps maintain the balance of natural oil levels? This makes it very suitable for dry skin conditions. Vitamin E oil is sometimes called the skin vitamin because it has excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-healing properties.
