Reality Can Be More Disturbing Than Any Fiction

Reality can be more disturbing than any fiction. This collection brings together real stories that may surprise you.

What seems, at first, to be an ordinary event quickly transforms into a much more horrifying occurrence. From bizarre encounters to inexplicable twists of fate, these events shake everything we thought we knew.

Story 1
For a while, I received several strange calls from wrong numbers. The most memorable was a call I received around 11 PM. I was sleeping, but I answered and didn’t understand what was happening. There was noise, as if several people were making a racket.

When I fully woke up and listened carefully, it sounded like a vocal quartet singing in a sad tone — without words, just a long “oooooooh” rising and falling on a minor scale. It was depressing and strange, so I hung up. I still remember the part of the melody I heard. The number was restricted when I checked.

Story 2
I lost two hours in one day. I was getting ready to go to college, and my dad was supposed to take me, so he was there too. We were watching the news, and the image froze. I turned the TV off and on again, and during that time, two hours had passed.
Either we both fell asleep without realizing it, or something strange happened. Personally, I believe we slipped into another dimension.

Story 4
My 5-year-old stepson tells me about his “life before,” when he had a different name and didn’t live with us. He suddenly shares details about that life, and what disturbs me is that the names of people and places are unknown to us.
He said he lived in California, in a city that started with “T” and ended with “A.” He mentioned several times that he misses the red sports car he drove on the beach. We live on the East Coast and have never been to California or to the beach with him.
He also recounted how, one day, he came home and found his new kitten missing from the apartment, described it, told me its name, and said how sad this memory makes him.

Story 5
I was in my room, at the computer. I opened Google to search for something. I had the text clearly in my mind, but I couldn’t type it at all — it just came out as a string of nonsensical letters. I tried three times and couldn’t write the words. After a short walk, I recovered. I have no idea what that was.

Story 7
Last year, I was in my room with the light on. It was late, and I got up to turn it off. I took two steps, and suddenly, I was back on the bed, and the light was off. I hadn’t even reached the switch…

Story 8
I was 22 years old and getting ready at 6:30 AM for a pastry course. I clearly thought I needed to take the chef’s coat from the closet… The next moment, it was neatly laid out on the bed. I don’t remember taking it out.
At 25, I worked as a waiter. I was holding an empty glass under an ice tea container. In an instant, the glass was full, with condensation on it, and my colleague was asking if I was okay. Maybe they were episodes of some kind of crisis, but it has never happened to me before.

Story 10
My bedroom was in the basement of an old house with creaky stairs, so you could hear when someone was coming down. I was lying on the bed, with my back to the door, when I felt the mattress sink beside me, as if someone had sat down. I turned around trembling, but there was no one there. I still felt the weight disappear, as if the person had gotten up. I ran upstairs, feeling all the way that someone was right behind me.

Story 11
I lived with my parents and often stayed online until 5-6 AM. One night, the back door (locked) suddenly opened, and I heard a deep growl. The cats immediately gathered by the door. My parents’ house has always had strange phenomena. I think it is haunted.

Story 13
I woke up at 3 AM with 12 missed calls from my mom and a message: “I’ve been robbed! Come quickly!” I ran to her house. She told me she hadn’t sent me any message. I showed her my phone, and she showed me her phone with an unsent message that was identical to the one I received.
She said she composed it but changed her mind and didn’t send it. I was chilled. If she didn’t send it, then who did?
When I returned home, the door was open, and everything inside was ransacked, with items missing. I still don’t know if it was a coincidence or if someone intentionally tried to get me out of the house.
