Hawthorn Tincture: A Shield for the Restless Heart

Recipe for Homemade Hawthorn Tincture

Ingredients:

  • 50 g dried hawthorn fruits (or dried flowers and leaves, optional)
  • 250 ml food-grade alcohol (40-50%) or pure vodka, without additives
  • Glass jar with a lid
  • Dark glass bottle for storage

Preparation Method:

  1. Gently crush the hawthorn fruits with a rolling pin (for more efficient extraction).
  2. Place the plant in the jar and pour the alcohol over it.
  3. Shake gently and let it macerate for 14 days in a dark, cool place, shaking daily.
  4. After 2 weeks, strain the tincture through cheesecloth and store the liquid in a dark glass bottle in a cool place.

Validity: up to 2 years.


How to Administer

  • Adults: 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day, diluted in a little water, 15-30 minutes before meals.
  • Recommended courses: 3 weeks, with a break of 7-10 days. Can be repeated 3-4 times a year.
