Rebecca’s Story

Rebecca, 30 years old, recently shared an emotional story with us. She intentionally entered into a relationship with a married man, a father of two, which led to the breakdown of his family.

Now, pregnant, she believed it was time for him to end his marriage and make their relationship official. But instead of a marriage proposal or a new beginning, Rebecca received a strange and disturbing phone call from his wife. From that moment on, her life became an uncomfortable and unexpected deadlock.

Here is Rebecca’s story:

I never imagined I would become the mistress of a married man. I was raised with strong moral principles, and the fact that I contributed to the breakdown of a family weighs heavily on me. But what’s done is done. Jack was not divorced when we met, and since then, everything in my life has changed. I don’t know what to do. I desperately need help.

Jack, my new colleague, was married and had two children when we met, but the chemistry between us was undeniable. On our second date, he told me he loved me and that he was going to leave his wife after 20 years of marriage. He described her as unattractive, uneducated, and selfish, saying he could no longer stand her.

Now I am four months pregnant with his child. Last night, everything changed.
Kate, Jack’s wife, called me. To my surprise, she knew everything about me – my name, age, where I live, and the fact that I was expecting her husband’s child. But instead of being angry, Kate spoke calmly and composed.

She didn’t blame me. She introduced herself politely and told me she had something important to say, something she thought I would be interested in. She asked me to meet her at a nearby café. I agreed. Now I deeply regret not calling Jack first to encourage him to resolve his situation with her. Instead, I chose to meet with Kate. That decision changed everything.

Kate asked me not to tell Jack about our meeting. She said he would definitely try to stop me, but that she had something essential to say and that it was worth listening to her.

So I lied to Jack, telling him I had plans with a friend in town. It was hard to act normal, but I managed.

When I arrived at the café, I immediately recognized Kate, even though we had never met before. She did not resemble at all the image Jack had painted of her. She was beautiful, elegant, and confident.

But what surprised me the most was that she hadn’t come alone. Her two children, Lily (15) and Randall (10), were with her. They greeted me casually, as if I were an old friend of their mother, not their father’s mistress, pregnant with a child. Then, Kate calmly said to me, “This is Rebecca, your father’s mistress.” The children had no reaction. It was surreal.

Kate didn’t waste any time. She looked at me and said, “Okay, Rebecca, I’ll get straight to the point. I’ve known for a long time that Jack has affairs. I’ve learned to ignore them as long as there were no children involved. But your situation changes everything. That’s why I wanted us to meet. I have a proposal for you. Don’t answer immediately. Please, listen to me until the end.”

Before Kate could continue, her daughter dropped a bombshell. To my surprise, she said she wanted to meet her little brother. I didn’t know what to say. Kate continued, saying that she and Jack had divorced five months ago – something he had never told me. She added that since I was about to have his child, she wanted her children to know him, and for my child to grow up knowing them as siblings. I was shocked. Everything sounded extremely bizarre.

At first, I didn’t believe she was serious.

If I were in her place and my husband had a child with another woman, I don’t think I could be that kind. And considering her children are teenagers, I wouldn’t expect them to want any connection with the child resulting from their father’s infidelity. The whole situation seemed unreal.

But then something unexpected happened. Lily, Jack’s 15-year-old daughter, said she already loved her unborn brother and couldn’t wait to spoil him and be the best big sister. Her 10-year-old brother, Randall, agreed, excited about the idea of having a little sister. I felt sincerity in their eyes.

I left with a mix of emotions.

I still haven’t told Jack about this meeting, and I don’t know how to proceed. I had no idea he was already divorced, and now his ex-wife and children want to joyfully welcome my child into their lives.

I am confused, overwhelmed, and torn. What should I do?
