Unfortunately, obesity is becoming increasingly present in our daily lives, and more and more people, children, and young people are facing this burden of excess weight. I call it a burden because it truly is, both literally and figuratively.
Besides being a health issue, it is also a matter of physical appearance, so we have every reason to succeed in shedding this so-called burden.
How does one end up here? Simply put, the primary cause is an unhealthy diet, stress, and a sedentary lifestyle, which are determining factors in the onset of obesity.
Another cause is the malfunctioning of glands, and here it is no longer within the patient’s control.
When we exceed our normal weight, we already present the risk of developing other serious conditions, ranging from cardiovascular diseases to kidney and gallbladder issues. The liver also suffers, as does the risk of colon, rectal, prostate, breast, and cervical cancer.
As if that weren’t enough, it also affects our spine, leading to lower back pain and even knee pain. Often, we wonder why our back hurts, without realizing that we have actually gained 4-5 kilograms.
Fortunately, we have natural remedies that will help us shed the burden of excess weight.
Here is a plant combination that we can prepare easily:
1 tablespoon of horsetail
half a tablespoon of fucus (a marine algae) which is not recommended for pregnant women, children, and those who are about to undergo surgical procedures.
1 tablespoon of St. John’s wort
We put everything in a pot and pour boiling water over it until full. Let it steep until the tea is warm. We will consume two cups a day, unsweetened, preferably after breakfast and again after dinner.
There are also ready-made teas that we can find in specialty stores throughout the year.
To enjoy the effects of this remedy, we need to pay attention to what we eat, but that is not the only issue; we also need to consider how much we eat, and all of this without some physical activity (walking at a brisk pace) will not have immediate effects.
