Tmia is an extraordinary remedy for health. It dissolves cysts on the liver, lungs, or kidneys. In the first week, a grain of white tmia wrapped in bread crust is swallowed. In the following three weeks, the same process is followed, but only every other day. In parallel, three to four glasses of shepherd’s purse tea are consumed before main meals and even between meals instead of water.
Miraculous powers
Tmia, according to ancient traditions, has been used since the earliest times, considered a good fragrance whose smoke rises to the heavens as a symbol of our prayers. In fact, tmia is the resin of certain exotic shrubs that, upon contact with air, solidifies, similar to the resin of fir trees. The shrubs from the Burseraceae family grow in India, China, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Egypt, in the crevices of cliffs and near the sea.
From longitudinal incisions made in the bark of this small shrub, a milky liquid flows. This is collected between the end of March and the beginning of April. Each tree yields, depending on its age, thickness, and condition, between three to ten kg of tmia.
A tree can be harvested for up to four years, after which a break of several years is necessary. Tmia comes in different shapes and colors, depending on the places and regions from which it originates. The tmia from Arabia, Egypt, and Somalia is yellow and tear-shaped, while the one from India is superior and yellow. In ancient times, it was one of the most precious commodities, its value being close to that of gold.
Ingredient in the preparation of the Holy and Great Myrrh
Tmia is used as an ingredient in the preparation of the Holy and Great Myrrh. Today, synthetic tmia is widely used. However, for therapeutic purposes, natural tmia is recommended. Beware of counterfeit tmia made from various fir or spruce resins! It can be harmful.

Yellowish tmia seeds, used as mental fortifiers
In traditional medicine, yellowish tmia seeds are used as mental fortifiers. In Europe, tmia was used until the mid-19th century to relieve rheumatic pain. Modern medicine seems to be rediscovering it in the treatment of cancer, dysentery, and fever.
Plants are a sure way to strengthen and tone the body; however, natural or nutritional remedies should be discussed with a doctor before starting treatment.
