Knee pain and swelling can signal a variety of health issues. It is recommended to see a doctor if the pain persists. Until you receive a correct diagnosis, do not rush to take pills.
There are old but effective remedies that have helped even our grandparents. They are usually used to relieve swelling and pain.
Old remedies that can reduce swelling and knee pain
Salt, turmeric, and lemon juice
Put a tablespoon of coarse salt, turmeric, and lemon juice in a bowl and mix the ingredients well.
Apply the obtained mixture to the painful area before bedtime. Wrap it with plastic wrap and then with a cloth, a towel, or a bandage.
Then let the remedy with salt, turmeric, and lemon work overnight.
Cabbage
Cabbage leaves also relieve knee pain. Crush a cabbage leaf with a hammer for a while so that it releases its juice.
Apply the leaf to the knee, ankle, elbow, or another joint and wrap it in foil, then in a bandage. The cabbage leaf should be applied in the evening and left to work overnight.
Potatoes and vodka
Grate a potato and mix it with a little vodka.
Apply the obtained mixture to the painful spot and wrap it with a bandage. Let the mixture work. If necessary, repeat the procedure.
Honey and mustard powder
Heat a tablespoon of honey in a water bath and mix it with a tablespoon of mustard powder, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Mix everything until you obtain a homogeneous paste.
Then apply the paste to the painful joints and cover it with plastic wrap and then with a bandage. The honey and mustard mixture should be left to work for at least 2 hours.
This remedy should be used immediately, so you cannot store it for later use. It quickly soothes pain and reduces joint inflammation.
